Intercultural management trainings |
Jacob Vossestein is a senior trainer in the field of business effectiveness and intercultural management consultancy. Among his clients are executives from multinational companies and international organisations, but also government officials, academics and students from all over the world.
Based on these experiences, he wrote several books. More on them in other pages of this website.
One of his specialties is the Culture Exchange Workshop for international companies employing multinational teams co-operating either 'live' or through e-mail and fax.
With Jacob's assistance and analysis, participants minimise or solve their misunderstandings in communication by coming to a practical and functional action-plan. Discussing the cultural aspects of Corporate Values can also be part of the training.
Jacob did such programmes with teams made up of Dutch people with either American, Polish, French, British, South-Korean or Russian colleagues.
One other version of this is the training programme on Dutch work culture for young IT professionals from India who have IT work outsourced to them from Dutch companies. Jacob made field trips to India to collect material on this, visiting Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore.
As per 2008, Jacob no longer works for the Royal Tropical Institute, where for many years he was involved in the successful course programme Understanding the Dutch, meant for international expatriates posted to the Netherlands, but of course Dutch business culture remains a special focus point.
